Service
Community Clarity Sprint
One focused week on a single community problem, ending in a written decision you can act on rather than another round of discussion.
For community managers and small teams who know something is not working and need it settled in days rather than months.
The problem
Signals you will recognise
The sprint suits one problem that has been open too long. If several of these are true, it is the right size of engagement.
- The same community problem has been discussed in three meetings and is still open.
- Your community is busy in some places and silent in others, and you are not sure which of those matters.
- You are about to change your platform, your structure or your rules and you want a second opinion first.
- Engagement numbers rise and fall and nobody can say what causes it.
- You have a decision to make about your community this month and no clear basis for making it.
- Your team disagrees about what the community is actually for.
How it works
One week, start to finish
The week starts when you book and send the brief. Nothing waits on a call being scheduled.
-
1
You book and send the brief
Day one
You book the sprint on this page and receive a short brief by email. It asks for the one problem you want settled and whatever context you already hold.
-
2
Review and questions
Days two and three
We work through what you send and come back with questions. If the answer depends on seeing the community itself, you give us read access.
-
3
Working session
Day four
Ninety minutes with you and up to three colleagues. We work through the options together and put the trade offs of each one in front of you.
-
4
Written decision note
Day five
You receive a short written note recording the recommendation, the reasoning, the options considered and set aside, and what to do next. It is written to be shared with people who were not in the room.
Scope
What you receive
A sprint is deliberately small. Here is exactly what comes out of it.
-
A written decision note
Short, specific and shareable. The recommendation, the reasoning behind it, and the options that were considered and set aside so nobody reopens them in a fortnight.
-
A ninety minute working session
You and up to three colleagues, focused on one problem rather than on a general review of everything.
-
A next step list
The three things to do first, in order, with who needs to do each one.
What is not included
- This is one problem, not a full community review. If you have several, the Membership Experience Audit is the better fit.
- We do not implement the decision or run your community during the sprint or afterwards.
- We do not attend further meetings after the working session unless we agree that separately.
Questions
Questions people ask before booking
Can I really book this without speaking to you first?
Yes. That is the point of the sprint. You book on this page, complete a short brief and the week starts. If the sprint turns out to be the wrong fit for your problem, we will tell you before any work begins and refund you in full.
Why is this cheaper than the other services?
Because it is smaller. One problem, one working session and one written note, inside a week. It is also an introductory price for the first cohort of sprints, and it will rise once those are complete.
Who should be in the working session?
You, and up to three people who will have to live with the decision. Fewer is usually better than more.
What if the problem turns out to be bigger than one sprint?
We will say so in the note, and set out what a fuller piece of work would need to cover. There is no obligation to take it.
Do you need access to our community?
Only where the answer depends on seeing it. Read access is enough. We do not post, message your members or take part.
What if we need to move the working session?
Tell us before day three and we move it at no cost. The week simply shifts.
Book it and the week starts
One problem, one week, one written decision. No enquiry form and no call to sit through first.
